Ok, this was in September, but still part of summer fun. Here is Emma in the water at the upper Provo River below the falls.
We went camping a couple weekends ago, somewhere round about Payson. A little campground called Maple Bench that we've been to a few times.
This time we discovered a little lake nearby. Maybe it was just a big pond. Whatever it was, we walked all the way around it (and it didn't take long).
On another day Em and I went to the Hogle Zoo with her good pal Cannon and his mom Michelle. Oh, it was a pretty day to be at the zoo. We went to the bird show, saw the baby elephant rolling around in the mud, saw a great big gorilla really up close (it looked like a person in a gorilla suit).
One early evening we drove up to the flight park close by our house and Joe snapped some good photos of the paragliders. There were plenty of them out that night. (Click to enlarge these photos...they're really cool.)
And the great big August event...Emma started kindergarten. Would have taken the official first-day-of-school picture in the out-of-doors, but it was raining cats and dogs.
But then it cleared up by the time we headed over to the bus stop.
And to wrap things up...Joe's been taking photos of the Draper temple lately. So we'll end with a gloomy shot...
...and a glorious shot.
...and a glorious shot.
That's all for now....

Can't believe summer is over...and that Emma is in kingergarten. Where did the time go. Hope she loves it:) Fun to see you at the zoo a few weeks ago!
Provo River Falls is just ideal, isn't it? The camping trip looks beautiful, too. Are you lonesome for Emma now that school has begun? She looks all grown up with her backpack on.
Joe, you take great pictures!
Thanks to all of you for sharing.
It was good to see you during Emma's first week of "real school".
What great photos! Glad Emma's first week of kindergarten went well.
I am sad summer is over. It is so amazing how these little girls have grown. How is Mama doing with her little one in Kindergarten. Caming looked so fun. Glad you guys had a great time.
We have been loving watching the gliders too! Man you guys were so close to them. We are going to have to take a trip to your neck of the woods to watch close up!
I can't believe she got on that school bus. Somehow, it seems like Emma should not grow up. These are all great shots. I "lol"ed at the one where Emma picks up that sizeable rock from the river and gives it the heave-ho. I accidentally clicked on the tent with Emma head and it is so adorable all huge like that. I think all tents should come with Emma popping her head out of them. Emma: Good luck in Public School land! Love, Aunt Julie
Great pictures, Joe. And Emma looks like such a big kid getting on that school bus.
You captured summer, and you captured back-to-school in a way that seems timeless - really - those school bus shots are so classic - they could have been taken back in the day in 1960 when Little Joey Haynie was getting on the school bus in Salt Lake city!
