I was tagged by two people recently (Peggy and Julia) to reveal seven things about myself.
1. I have nachos almost every Sunday after the block.
2. After Emma came home we watched a lot of "Signing Time" videos and I learned the sign language alphabet from the DVDs. I now compulsively finger spell words the way I used to type on my knees when I was taking typing from Guy Hafer at La Grande High School.
3. I enjoy folding laundry.
4. Sometimes when I'm practicing a piece of music that I have to perform I pretend I'm in the Music Olympics and imagine color commentators speculating on my chances for success ("Do you think she can navigate this tricky key change coming up? This is where the young Bulgarian upstart crashed and burned.") It manages to make me a little bit nervous.
5. I don't really like pretzels. I've tried to.
6. Garrison Keillor's column is the first thing I read in the Sunday Tribune, followed by Parade Magazine and the obits. The comics aren't funny. (Do you EVER laugh at a comic? Do you ever even SMILE at a comic?)
7. I can't whistle very well, which has always made me a little sad.
I tag BARBIE to write 7 things about herself in my comments section...

It may be our ages but Mom and I get a lot of laughs out of "Pickles" (in DesNews). It's done by an LDS cartoonist who says he gets most of his ideas from his in-laws.
The finger spelling thing is really funny...I thought I was the only one. I learned to finger spell in Grad. school for one of my deaf/blind classes. I, for the life of me, couldn't stop finger spelling EVERYTHING! I thought I had some sort of disorder. Eight years later, I have recovered. ;0)
Tiffany
Mmmmm . . . nachos.
I agree with you about the comics, but Ethan loves them. He reads them every morning before going to church, but he rests the heel of his hands on his cheeks while he does and ends up with thes bright red spots on his face, like circles of rouge. Generally unacceptable for a Deacon. I'm trying to break him of it.
1. I have a 3rd eye that is completely useless.
2. I have 3 months of mobile food storage.
3. I secretly like to put meat in vegetarian's food.
4. I enjoy counting my chicken before they hatch....And eating them.
5. Sometimes I wish I could quit my job and be a full time dinosaur.
6. This halloween I only gave candy to the skinny kids.
7. My testimony is now shaken following BYU's failed quest for perfection.
I'm thinking that "Livin Right" is not Barbie. Could it be....Shawn??
Denny - Thank you for the tag. I am honored. I think I could just duplicate verbatim what you wrote - especially the part about pretzels. I just bought some last week to make Chex Mix Chow - I think Russell's liking it has made it linger in the back of my mind - and as I dutifully chewed a powdery mouthful I seriously pondered the fact that I just don't like 'em - this was just last Saturday. Pretty funny. So, here are 7 things about me:
1. I had never slept in my car during lunchtime, despite repeated attempts, until about 10 years ago when I had just returned from Girl's Camp and had to go to work the following Monday. I drove to Zim's at lunch (which, sadly, is going out of business) to buy some doo-hinkies, and when I got back into my car to drive back to work I was so exhausted that I leaned back my seat to recline and fell sound asleep in the Zim's parking lot. Much like breaking the four-minute mile, once it was accomplished the first time, it became easy. Now, once or twice a year I take a snooze in my car.
2. I love little furry miniature yellow chicks you can buy for Easter baskets. I'm afraid I won't be able to find them now that Zim's has closed.
3. I entered the Salt Lake Tribune Jello limerick contest. My limericks are lame.
4. The only 2 songs I can play on the piano without music are "Blues in the Night," as taught to me by my father, and 10 measures of the Door's "Light My Fire" which I once played verrrrry slowly for prelude music in mutual (when I was 16).
5. When I have blood drawn for various and sundry reasons, I pretend that I'm in the Army and serving in VietNam and in the middle of something that involves being hit by shrapnel but I have to be tough because I'm in the Army.
6. I love the smell of coffee at Barnes and Noble, and feel slightly guilty for feeling more at home there than I ever have at Seagull Book (and Tape).
7. Some of my fears (other than a raging fear of heights) are: not being able to stop myself and impulsively sticking my fingers in the hand mixer while it's on high; being hit by a cement truck; accidentally getting sucked into a pool of quicksand.
there you go - thanks for the tag!

Barbie -- Thank you for the great 7 things! I want to tag everybody I know and have them write 100 things -- I love this kind of stuff. If you happen to read this... would you please favor us with your Jello limerick?
Thank you for your 7 thangs. Pretty funny. I agree, the comics usually aren't that funny and Garison Keillor usually is.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Just for Denies:
Jell-O Limerick:
OH Jell-o! - with flavors that vary,
from lime green to the deepest black cherry.
Colors rich as stained glass,
in each jiggling mass,
then covered with Cool Whip, non-dairy.
That is great! I like nachos too, but every week? Cool.
Barbie, that's a fabulous limerick!
Your mode of explaining the whole thing in this article is really fastidious, every one be capable of easily understand it, Thanks a lot.
