Emma's Future Quarters

So here's a "before" picture of Emma's room. We need to get going with the redecorating, I'm thinking. I'm considering lavender for the walls. Matt and Erin (Joe's brother and wife) are giving us their lovely crib, which their boys have outgrown. Was going to get a changing table, but have heard from two reliable sources that they're a waste of wall space -- floors and beds work just as well. The chair in the photos was handpainted by one of my co-workers.

I don't consider myself a reliable source, but I am glad we have a changing table. Especially if the baby wakes up during the night. It's nice to have everything ready in one place and a known surface to put the baby on. A changing table isn't necessary, of course, but it is a nice convenience.

Okay, so referrals must be coming within the next week or so, right??? I'm waiting to hear the good news!!!

p.s. I kind of like a changing table, too. Good place to put diapers and things. BUT, I pretty much stopped using it once the baby was over one (by that point, you're chasing them down to change them), and Emma will probably be about that age when she comes home. So you probably don't need one!

Consider me your fifth source. (Like Dave, I don't know if I'm reliable!) I think it's nice to have a place to change them that's not on the floor when they're really little. However, I never purchased a changing TABLE. With Whitney, we just used her dresser AS a changing table and bought one of those semi-circle shaped changing pads to put on top of it. Then when they outgrow that phase where they'll hold still, you can just take it off and use the dresser for other decorations, toys, etc.

(Do you know what I'm talking about when I say semi-circle shaped changing pad?) After I posted that last comment and read it, it sounds funny. It is rectangular from the top, but semi-circular from the side, so the baby can lay in there and not roll off as easily. :)

Hey Andi,
Did you really write that last comment at 4:30 AM?

My first impression...she looks like a Haynie! Perfect fit! We can't wait to meet her in person. Congratulations!
